For each of the 2015-16 Learning Lab projects, the MLV team developed new skills and new literacies, to gain facility with new media for communication and new “workflows” for digital and physical activities and productions.  To bring this specialized knowledge to the broader teaching and learning community at Harvard, the MLV team created a series of Learning Lab Workshops in spring 2016.  Primarily designed for faculty and graduate students but open to all, these workshops offered teachers a chance to learn new skills while simultaneously reflecting on how these skills might transform what they and their students do in the classroom.  In spring 2016, we offered a total of ten workshops, on topics including HTML and CSS, data visualization with d3.js, performing on camera, an improvisational “movement lab,” designing and responding to creative assignments, drawing, graphic design, 3D modeling, and animation.
